Fernander, an associate with Tripp Scott, is a veteran litigator with extensive experience in jury and bench trials, as well as other judicial proceedings. Fernander focuses his practice on disputes stemming from construction, land use, bid protests and general commercial litigation. His diverse practice includes the representation of business owners, recreational facilities, law enforcement agents, colleges and municipalities. In addition, he is currently general counsel for Prior to joining Tripp Scott, Fernander practiced with two Ft. Lauderdale-based firms. Before this, he worked in the Miami-Dade County Public Defender's Office. Fernander was elected to the Miramar City Commission in 1997. Before this, he served for two years on the Miramar Planning and Zoning Board. As a city commissioner, he has worked to expand the city's tax base through economic development and redevelopment.
