Tripp Scott Names Two New Directors

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 18 – Tripp Scott today announced that Thomas Sternberg has been promoted to administrative director, and Stephanie Mazzola has been promoted to director. Both attorneys were previously with the firm. 

Sternberg is a director with Tripp Scott and focuses his practice on Education Law and Government Affairs. Thomas routinely represents private and quasi-public entities before local and state governmental agencies on all regulatory matters facing educational and non-profit institutions in Florida. Thomas serves as outside general counsel to numerous organizations, both small and large, handling a wide array of issues ranging from general governmental compliance, commercial and administrative litigation, and real estate matters through both public bond financing and private lending. Thomas also serves on the community advisory board of South Florida PBS and is the Chair of the Tripp Scott Community Service Committee.

Mazzola focuses her practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, labor and employment, construction law and appellate law.  She has successfully litigated matters before federal and state courts on behalf of local and national clients, including successfully defending employers against charges of discrimination, sexual harassment claims in the workplace, claims of retaliation in the workplace, as well as successfully defending and prosecuting actions relating to overtime and wage disputes brought pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act.  In the arena of construction and appellate law, Stephanie has successfully obtained per curiam affirmances in multiple state court appeals and successfully defended a national contractor in a class action, multi-district litigation pending in federal court.  Prior to joining Tripp Scott, Stephanie served as a staff attorney to the Honorable Dorian Damoorgian at the Fourth District Court of Appeal, during which time she reviewed and analyzed civil and criminal appeals as well as petitions for extraordinary writs.   Stephanie has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine as a Super Lawyer, a distinction given to no more than 2.5% of attorneys. She has been recognized by the publication as a Rising Star since 2016.
