Thomas Barrett Sternberg is a director with Tripp Scott and focuses his practice on Education Law and Government Affairs. Thomas routinely represents private and quasi-public entities before local and state governmental agencies on all regulatory matters facing educational and non-profit institutions in Florida. Thomas serves as outside general counsel to numerous organizations, both small and large, handling a wide array of issues ranging from general governmental compliance, commercial and administrative litigation, and real estate matters through both public bond financing and private lending.

Thomas earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and a bachelor's degree from Temple University's Fox School of Business in Philadelphia. Thomas was credited as a research assistant for both Dean Olympia Duhart and Professor Phyllis Coleman in three published works while in law school, in both the Wake Forest and Pace Law Review Journals, as well as the Florida Family Law; Text and Commentary Statutory Textbook. During law school, Thomas served as the Goodwin Alumni Editor for the Nova Southeastern Law Review Journal and competed on the New York City Bar National Moot Court team. While remaining active in the community, Thomas is currently a member of the South Florida PBS Community Advisory Board.

Prior to working at Tripp Scott as an attorney, Thomas was a summer associate and law clerk at Tripp Scott, as well as an intern for the City of Coral Springs City Attorney’s Office.
