Christine P. Yates, a director at Tripp Scott, leads the firm’s Private Wealth Services group and has more than 24 years of experience guiding clients through complex estate and wealth transfer matters. Her practice includes estate, gift and generation-skipping planning, trust and estate administration, and fiduciary litigation. From smaller family estates to estates exceeding $1 billion, Yates counsels clients with an emphasis on discretion, confidentiality, and understanding the personal circumstances behind each matter.

Yates has particular experience representing high-net-worth individuals and families, including clients in the automotive industry, as well as families navigating Alzheimer’s disease and traumatic brain injury. She prepares wills, trusts and complex estate plans designed to preserve multigenerational wealth and advises clients on elder planning and guardianship matters.

Her practice also includes estate, trust and guardianship administration and litigation. Yates has represented clients in matters involving undue influence, testamentary capacity, will and trust contests, trust administration and guardianship claims. Frequently appointed by the court, she has also served the judiciary as guardian, guardian ad litem, special master, curator, administrator ad litem, and receiver.

Yates has been recognized for her professional achievements, including being named one of the South Florida Business Journal’s “40 Under 40,” and is Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated. She is active in the Broward County Bar Association, including its Elder Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections, and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Broward County. She was also a founding member of the Professional Association for Women.

Her commitment to the South Florida community extends beyond her legal practice. Yates was a founding member of the Broward Chapter of Tiffany Circle for the American Red Cross and currently serves on the boards of the Stranahan House, The Bougainvillea House, and Positive Coaching Alliance. She is also a member of the Professional Advisors Council for the Community Foundation of Broward. Her past involvement includes the Broward County Public Library Foundation, Bonnet House, Junior Welfare Society, PAWS, Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association and the University of Miami’s planned giving council.

Yates’ connection to the legal profession began long before her own career. She is the daughter of Norman Tripp, who founded Tripp Scott, and grew up watching her father build not only a law firm, but a reputation that was deeply personal to him. From him, she learned that the way you treat people and the trust you earn over time matter just as much as the work itself. Those lessons stayed with her when she became a lawyer and eventually joined Tripp Scott, where she has built a career of her own while continuing a legacy that has always been part of her life. She and her father also shared a love for the University of Miami, a connection that would become part of her own path.

Yates earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Finance, cum laude, from the University of Miami, where she was a member of the President’s Council for Academic Achievement and the Omicron Delta Kappa and Mortar Board honor societies. She later earned her law degree from the University of Florida.
