Tripp Scott's Dennis Smith Awarded Broward Workshop Chairman’s Award

Tripp Scott law firm announces that Dennis Smith, chairman of Tripp Scott, was awarded the Broward Workshop Chairman’s Award for 2026 for his outstanding leadership, mentoring, global vision, and dedication to the mission of the Broward Workshop.

The Broward Workshop is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan business organization comprised of the chief decision makers representing 100 of Broward County's businesses and professions seeking to facilitate solutions to our most critical issues.

In addition to being chairman of Tripp Scott, Dennis is a respected attorney, civic leader, and proud Pompano Beach native, whose lifelong commitment to South Florida spans law, business, and community service.

A skilled negotiator with extensive experience handling complex financing transactions and corporate matters, he assists corporate clients with a full range of legal services, from mergers and acquisitions to estate planning. Smith was a standout student-athlete, graduating from Pompano Beach High School with First Team All-County honors in football before earning his degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, a JD from Villanova Law School, and an LLM in taxation from the University of Miami. In 1977, he joined Norman Tripp to help build what would become one of South Florida’s most prominent law firms. Two years later, Jim Scott joined the partnership, and the firm evolved into today’s Tripp Scott.
