Ryder S. Gaenz is a litigation associate at Tripp Scott, where he focuses on appellate, business, employment, and complex commercial litigation. Before joining Tripp Scott, Ryder clerked for judges Jeffrey T. Kuntz and Edward L. Artau at Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal, where he scrutinized appellate arguments, drafted objective legal memoranda for the Court, and assisted the Court in its opinion-editing process. During his clerkship, Ryder developed the sharp attention to detail necessary to effectively represent his clients’ interests in one of the country’s busiest legal arenas. Now, Ryder utilizes these talents to draft excellent legal memoranda to achieve his clients’ ends, whether offensively or defensively.
Before joining the legal profession, Ryder earned his juris doctor from the Florida International University College of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude and salutatorian of the class of 2023. While in law school, Ryder was a member of the FIU Law Review, where he published an article addressing the then-cutting-edge constitutional question of the Second Amendment’s applicability to persons under twenty-one years of age. The article has since been quoted in the most recent supplements to the nation’s leading Second Amendment law casebook, Firearms Law and the Second Amendment: Regulation, Rights, and Policy. Additionally, Ryder served as president of his law school’s Federalist Society chapter for two years. In that role, he coordinated many debates, panels, and speeches, where the nation’s leading jurists discussed and debated contemporary and age-old legal problems.
Prior to law school, Ryder graduated from Florida Atlantic University, summa cum laude, with a major in political science and a minor in history. He currently lives in Davie with his wife and son, and he most enjoys spending his free time with family and on the sporting clays course.
